2021 jeep wrangler and 2021 ford bronco
The Jeep Wrangler has gone uncontested with no direct competition for many years but that is not the only reason it has won the king of the off roaders title among enthusiasts. Jeep and off-roading could be practically synonymous with the high clearance, suspension, and rugged towing capabilities but now it has some competition.

Looking at the specs, features, and pricing side by side for the brands’ top trim levels will give buyers a good idea of why the Jeep Wrangler is still the king of the off roaders.

2021 Jeep Wrangler vs. 2021 Ford Bronco

With the release of the 2021 Ford Bronco the Jeep Wrangler finally has a competitor. There are enthusiasts who have already declared the Broncos superiority even though it has yet to be released. While it looks amazing when you examine the features and specs, it will need to stand up to the rugged terrain the Wrangler has been navigating for decades.

2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Features, Pricing, Specs

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is the top trim level of the Wrangler family and has a reputation that is hard to tarnish. With the rugged looks and features you would expect from the Jeep family, the Wrangler Rubicon can take you anywhere you want to drive. There are features that can be added such as a leather interior and upgraded tech that includes a Wi-Fi hotspot and infotainment system to make the feel more luxurious when you are off the beaten path.

There are two and four door options but both have removable doors and roof. This is something that was unique to the Jeep Wrangler but will soon be found on the Ford Bronco as well. For the 2021 year Jeep has given Wrangler drivers two new powertrain options that set it above the Ford Bronco. This year they are offering the plug-in hybrid 4xe for a more environmentally friendly and fuel efficient option as well as a 470 HP V-8 available in the new Rubicon 392.

The Rubicon and the Rubicon 392 are the top trim levels and come with the price tag to match. With the features drivers get, there is still value to be had. Starting at $40,210 for the Rubicon and an estimated $60,000 for the Rubicon 392 there is definitely a gap in price point.

2021 Ford Bronco Badlands Features, Pricing, Specs

The 2021 Ford Bronco has been anticipated for a long time and is finally about to arrive. How does it stack up to the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon? While they are comparable, to get what the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has, drivers will have to add the optional Sasquatch package to the Bronco Badlands. It can’t stand up to the powertrain options that are now available on the Rubicon but it is comparable in price, although it is priced slightly higher. The Badlands starts at $43,590 while the edition comparable to the Rubicon 392 starts at $60,800.
